Sneak Preview class segments from the Ayurvedic Health Counselor Program

Our Registered Ayurveda Health Counselor Program at Sacred Stone School has been approved and exempted by the RIOPC since 2012. Our ABS program has also been approved by the NCBTMB for CEs in massage therapy. We have graduated over 3,000 successful and happy students in the metaphysical healing arts. This advanced, comprehensive form of life coaching is now available for students, laypersons, and professionals in the healing arts industry interested in learning Ayurvedic and counseling skills to enhance their yoga or massage practice or their personal health and the health of others. The time-proven science of Ayurveda is founded on the concept of individuality, food as medicine, consciousness, metaphysics, sound healing, love, our genetic constitution, and epigenetic principles. This is the science of self-healing from India and is considered one of the three top medical systems in the world, according to the World Health Organization in Atlanta, GA.
This is a self-paced online program where students must be self-motivated and directed, happily working independently from the comfort of their homes. Our online audio and video library is robust and inspiring, featuring over 50 video recordings of the top Ayurvedic masters in the world, for example, Dr. John Doulliard, Marc Halpern, David Frawley, and Dr. Vasant Lad. Karyn has over six instructional Ayurvedic Bodywork videos and manuals available to students as part of the Online Ayurvedic Bodywork Specialist Program. Our library has over 40 audio recordings from the National Ayurvedic Medical Association’s annual conferences that come as part of your enrollment. Our AHC program includes an online Anatomy and Physiology self-paced course with a multiple-choice auto-corrected exam. View the Online Ayurvedic Bodywork Specialist Course, which is the highlighted specialty of our AHC online program. Karyn Chabot owns Sacred Stone School and offers online medical vedic counseling and astrology courses.
“Disease is not spontaneously procured; it is always produced. It is acquired by a lifestyle not aligned with nature’s laws. Disease is not a question of exposure. The status of the individual’s inner ecology and immunity gives rise to the vulnerability of contracting disease. Suppose an external pathogen such as a virus, yeast, parasite, or bacteria invades the body. In that case, the impact on our health will be minimal unless our inner ecology has become toxic, acidic, weakened, or congested. By applying the principles of the ancient, evidence-based, holistic science of Ayurveda to our daily modern living, the human condition will be supported by the laws of nature effortlessly. Registered Ayurvedic Health Counselors are trained to create the space and provide the tools for people to heal the body, mind, and spirit by making simple daily choices based on their unique body type. More education, more meditation, and less medication.”
— Karyn Chabot, M. Ay, LMT, RYT

Program Details
This intensive course is designed for students who wish to become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in conjunction with their current healing practice and/or to help their family and friends rather than use it solely as their vocation.
This 500-hour program includes homework, pre-recorded and live webinars, yoga, access to the robust Sacred Stone School media library, multiple choice exams, and independent study contact hours. Plan to dedicate about 12 hours per week of study, though I have witnessed many students squeak by with only 5-8 hours per week. Everyone learns differently and at their own pace. This course is self-paced with no deadlines except requirement submissions, which must be delivered at least one week before graduation.
If students cannot complete their requirements before their 7th-month graduation date, they can pay $350/month, due on the 1st day of the 8th month and on the 1st of every month until they reach the 12-month mark. Sacred Stone School offers a grace period of 2 weeks for payment. After that, students must re-enroll and pay the difference for the 1-year tuition described below.
However, graduation from this program does not meet the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) exam requirements. NAMA requires a minimum of 650 hours, and this is a 500-hour program designed for students who do not wish to be credentialed with NAMA or pass the national exam. A student’s first tuition payment date is the official start date.
Students must read twenty-two chapters in Dr. Vasant Lad’s first two textbooks and take twenty-two short multiple-choice online exams throughout their program. Each exam consists of approximately twenty-five multiple-choice questions that are auto-corrected immediately and require a 75% passing score. This “Open-Book Honor System” helps release exam phobias while maintaining the highest and best learning standards.
Our audio/video selections are experienced in the privacy of the student’s home. Students must report on eleven of their favorite audio or video clips from the Sacred Stone School Media library for graduation requirements. Students may choose any selection they are drawn to and must prepare one detailed paragraph on their favorite part. This should be submitted via email to the Class Liaison before graduation.
Students must do a one-hour yoga class weekly via DVD or classroom in their homes, except while they are menstruating or ill. Sacred Stone School’s Online Media Library has many wonderful Yoga DVDs available. Student’s yoga experiences (one or two sentences) should be documented in a journal. Journal entries are due before graduation.
*Exception: If the student is already a Certified Yoga Teacher through the IYS or the YA, the 1-hour yoga class or DVD requirement will be waived. Certified Yoga Teachers must submit their certificates in person via scan, fax, or email attachment.
Start anytime. No prerequisites. This is a self-paced e-course based on the “Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology” textbook by Eldra Pearl Solomon, PhD. (4th edition) After reading the book, students must complete one multiple-choice exam containing 100 questions. The course includes 17 extensive, comprehensive, robust PowerPoint presentations (one for each textbook chapter) that can be used as a study guide.

“I feel so different about my abilities since attending your schools, much more confidence in myself with so much more substance to offer people. I can’t thank you enough for this experience and all of your heart and soul that you poured into it. You shared experiences and knowledge of sacred subjects so willingly; working with you was a blessing and transferred so much light that I can now transfer to others. I will no doubt continue to expand and extract lessons from you, your teachers, and your other students as time goes on. Thank you <3”

“Karyn I am so amazed that I am able to study with SAMA. It’s magic to me, life and heartbeat and breath and faith all flowing seamlessly in streams within my consciousness, opening and pushing me beyond my traditional theories of medicine to higher levels of healing. I am grateful. Mother Teresa once said, “The miracle is not that we do this work. The miracle is that we love to do this work.” Aloha nui mahalo

Dear Ramona, I am located in California and all of my classes have been long distance, except for Shirodhara, which I was able to join Karyn at Pura Vida in Costa Rica for this class. It was heaven! I am hoping that I can return again this year. I enjoy the on line classes as you are able to join in while the class is "live" or you can watch the classes later when it fits your schedule. As far as asking questions,...When you "join" the class on line, you are able to type your questions into a chat box, which is constantly being monitored. You can hear all the conversations in the class room, and Karyn always repeats the questions that the students ask, to be sure online people understand the conversation. The group/class also has created a private Facebook page, so you can always contact the other students there as well with comments or questions. Everyone is very helpful and even though we are not attending the class in the flesh, you still feel involved. Karyn has been my teacher now for over 11 years. My first class was Sacred Stone Therapy, then Ayurveda 10., Finally she created a Teacher Training for the Sacred Stone massage and I begun studying with her to become a Sacred Stone teacher. Now I am able to share the fabulous Sacred Stone therapy and introduce students to Ayurveda and get paid for it! Karyn is a awesome teacher, and shares information that is easy to incorporate in your life and use immediately. We also have been taught by several other respected and noted guest speakers/teachers. Our Sanskrit teacher lives in New Zealand. So the world is ours to explore. Karyn works very hard to find the best instructors to lead us on journey in this world of Ayurveda. She is always accessible either directly or thru our Student Liaison, who also is ready to assist and make sure your experience is a good one, even down to computer issues and accessing files. (Sometimes we massage therapists are not as computer savvy as most, and need a bit more instruction.) Accessing the online class is relatively easy. You just follow the instructions and again, someone is always available to help you. I also researched other Ayurvedic schools, as we have several here in California. The convenience of being able to learn from my home is wonderful, as I don't have the time to drive to Berkley (2 1/2 hour drive) or Grass Valley (90 minutes drive). It saves me gas, I can study in the middle of the night if I want to and our class is more intimate, even if we are long distance.And...Karyn has made the classes very affordable and accepts monthly payments. SO..yes..I highly recommend the class. If you have any other questions please send me another email. I hope to see your name on the online class roster soon. Have a wonderful evening.

The School of Allied Massage and Ayurveda, (SAMA) is located at 79 Thames St. in beautiful downtown Newport Rhode Island. SAMA is approved to operate in the state of R. I. and accredited by the Natinal Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) We are most blessed to have this incredible source of knowledge, and information in the form of quality teachers and an exceptional array of ayurvedic subjects available to us right here in this little tiny state. Karyn Chabot , the founder, director and teacher of SAMA holds a masters degree in Ayurveda, and through her years of schooling has made many influential contacts in this field. She enlists these highly conscious Ayurvedic teachers to share their wisdom with us either live, (in person) or through the technology of webex. The subjects cover the basis of Ayurveda, Anatomy and Asanas, Jyotish, Sanskrit, Herbology, cooking and others. The school is casual and comfortable and as in a college situation, you are in charge of your education. One is required to complete 2 chapters and two exams per month as well as study and practice of the other subjects. Personally, I haven’t been to school in almost 50 years and this brain is a little dusty. I will admit there are moments when I feel overwhelmed, but mostly I feel gratitude for being chosen to be here. Karyn accepted me as part of her inaugural class . This is a phenomenal opportunity that I am most aware of. I’m feeling intrigued by the information coming to me and I’m challenging myself to be one of the graduates in the very first SAMA class. With all that is being offered to us there is no reason not to make life changing, life saving shifts in our lives. I would like to thank Karyn Chabot for her incredible efforts in all she does to assist us with an open heart and pure intention to see each of us succeed to our fullest ability.
